Homework Oct 27

Here is the project. Blocks 1 and 2 it is due Tues Nov 8.(As per class vote).
Block 4 it is due Fri Nov 4(As per class vote-and you won't have homework over the 5/6 weekend).Your project will be done.


Summative Identity Task 2011 Visual and Oral Presentation


HOW DO WRITER’S CREATE CHARACTERS IDENTITES THAT WE CAN IDENTIFY AND RELATE TO?

Looking back at all the poems, short stories, articles,movie and discussions we have studied in this unit, your task is to think about the ideas and implications connected to the above statement.


v Select ten (10) powerful quotes or passages from any of the works we have studied.
PART 1- THE VISUAL (THIS CAN BE DONE WITH A PARTNER)

Create a visual, a photo essay, a movie, a graphic, a tableau, a skit, a mind map or some other sort of medium, to visually express/ explain/show:

1. How have the writer’s enabled you to identify with certain characters thoughts, feelings, actions values etc.

2. As you read the poems and stories, what images came to your mind and what quotes did you connect to those images as we looked into “IDENTITIES”.

3. Your visual will have images and quotes on it.

PART 2- THE WRITE UP (THIS MUST BE DONE INDIVIDUALLY)

You will prepare an individual write up which explains your choice of images and quotes.

Select seven (7) of the quotes and:

1. You will explain how the quote you chose helped you better understand the characters identity and why you selected that image to go with that quote. What does that image represent for you and how did the author help reveal the characters identity by using those words etc. Please explain (How/why is it connected to identity for you?)


2., Selecting the Essential Question you feel connects best with your visual write an overall statement that explains why and how it connects. Back it up with text support and make sure you explain your reasons. If you want to use more than one EQ go ahead.
